These conversations will collect stories and experiences to directly inform and strengthen public transit in Edmonton as well as other transportation needs (cabs, not-for-profit driving services such as Driving Miss Daisy, accessible parking and ride-hailing services such as Uber).
Radical Inclusion is collaborating with the John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights and Dr. Emily Grise (University of Alberta) and Dr. Joshua Evans (University of Alberta). Dr. Grise and Dr. Evans are currently undertaking a project entitled, “Understanding the evolving transport needs of seniors and persons with disabilities in Edmonton, Canada.” The project is being done in collaboration with the City of Edmonton and Edmonton Transit Service with the goal to strengthen transportation for people living with disabilities.
We will be hosting two online sessions for people with disabilities, two in person sessions for people with disabilities and one online specifically for caregivers. There is a limit of 8 registrations per conversation. We will be using a circle process format in which participants will have a chance to share their experiences and suggestions. We will work with you to meet any accommodation needs you may have (example, ASL). Please let us know how we can ensure your participation during your registration.
