Paint the Rails: Sri Lankan Community Session

Paint the Rails Sri Lankan Feb. 8, 2020

Paint the Rails (PTR) is a unique partnership between the John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights (JHC) and Edmonton Transit (ETS) that brings important community stories to public spaces. Paint the Rails is a dynamic storytelling approach that transforms local stories into murals that reflect our diverse communities through art, dialogue and documentation.

We are pleased to engage diverse cultural and religious people across our city to expand our understanding of home through stories of identity and belonging. February 8, 2020, 10 am-2 pm PTR will come together with members of the local Sri Lankan community for cultural learning, storytelling and artistic collaboration. Community engagement will guide the themes, stories and content of the upcoming Paint the Rails mural at Clareview station (Spring 2020), with a focus on textiles. Join us and make your mark on this important legacy project.
