Coalitions Creating Equity Stakeholder Gathering

June 30, 2020

2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

This session aims to educate community partners within the Coalitions Creating Equity on the realities and impacts of hate on Indigenous community members, particularly as it relates to across Treaty areas 6, 7, and 8.

Over the past year, stakeholders have been coming together in Edmonton to learn and talk about hate, racism, and discrimination and to build tools for education and response.

Two of the members highlighted that the Indigenous perspective was still lacking in the conversations.

This webinar is to bridge that gap; before CCE Edmonton can move forward on building a just strategy working together, we need to talk further and face some hard realities.

Please join us on Tuesday, June 30th at 2 pm to come together and be brave in our conversations moving forward. These realities are likely to grow deeper in the COVID19 pandemic.

The roster of Speakers:

  • Melodie Bastien

  • Lenora Manyfingers

  • Johnny Lee

  • Sandra Relling

  • Ryan Moosewaypayo

This session will be hosted by Native Counselling Services of Alberta and John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights.

While this is intended for the CCE Edmonton community of stakeholders, we welcome all to attend this important session. Register on Eventbrite.

Warning: The content of this session will be sensitive and challenging.
