The Peace and Unity Festival: Building Bridges Through Art and Dialogue
The Peace and Unity Festival brought together communities from throughout Edmonton in a celebration of connection, collaboration and unity. This full day of programming uniting artists, storytellers and young people from diverse cultural backgrounds was a collaboration between the John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights, Memoria Viva and Migrante Alberta. The project demonstrated the transformative power of art and dialogue in breaking barriers and creating unity.
Art served as the cornerstone of the event, acting as a universal language that transcended cultural and social divides. Through music, visual arts, and storytelling, participants shared cultural knowledge and personal experiences. These exchanges inspired collaboration across differences; all with the immense power to shape a more inclusive Edmonton.
