Not in My Backyard - Zine Pages from Lethbridge
“Not in My Backyard” is a social media campaign looking to highlight that racism and oppression are not just big-city issues, they exist and are experienced in towns, hamlets and villages too. The spaces in our community that make it home for some may be the same spaces that tell others they don't belong, whether we recognize it or not.
These antiracism zines from Grade 10 and 11 students at Lethbridge Collegiate reflect personal journeys and perspectives, proving that the fight against racism is as multifaceted as the people who take it on. Thank you to the students for sharing their work and to teachers Brent Saccucci and Jason Wegner for cultivating space in your classroom for important topics such as racism.
