Come join our ReconciliAction Youth Network!
Through this network, youth from diverse backgrounds will come together to learn about our shared history and build their skills to educate others on the realities and manifestations of colonization and understand the important role of being an ally. Our goal is to provide youth with a strong base of support, learning and innovation.
We plan to host our first gathering for this youth network on February 28th and March 1st where we will equip a team of 15 youth with facilitation and leadership training. At this meeting youth will set the groundwork for a student-led conference during Reconciliation Week in May. Our approach will be to draw on the unique perspectives, skills, and interests of each person and provide opportunities for mentorship and collaboration.
We would be honoured to have youth from grades 5-12 join us to be a part of this network for our first training. We will meet Thursday evening for dinner, introductions and informal dialogue, then jump into our programming from 10am-4pm on Friday.
