National Social Stride Roundtable (NSSR) on Digital Literacy
We are pleased to invite you to join us for the first National Social Stride Roundtable (NSSR) on digital literacy Saturday, Jan. 29th @ 1:00 PM MST.
In this session, we invite a team of leaders actively working to address hate, racism, discrimination, and misinformation to help us lay some context and know what supports exist when responding online. Our goal is to equip Canadian youth with the knowledge to address and respond to these issues.
Guest Speakers:
Linda Hoang (Blogger, Social Media Strategist) will share information on online tools that can be used to help shift conversations online;
Parveen Parmar (Lawyer, Human Rights Officer at JHC) will speak about the legal dimensions of addressing online hate and what we need to know; and
Farshad Labbaf (CPN-PREV) will share learnings from the Canadian Practitioners Network for the Prevention of Radicalization and Extremist Violence research to address the rise of online hate and hate-motivated violence in Alberta.
Huge thank you to the Government of Canada for their support to this important work.
