About these events

SEPTEMBER 21 | Advocacy Support: In this session, participants will learn how to monitor social media. The session will walk through response strategies, how to support victims/perpetrators of online hate, and how to provide support to those who encounter hate online, cyber-bullying, harassment, or discrimination through anti-oppressive education and trauma-informed training.

OCTOBER 19 | Challenging Our Story of Canada: This exercise will help us engage in social analysis and root our online advocacy work. It will help us better understand who has been discriminated against in this country, how that discrimination has taken place, and connect online and offline realities.

The aim is to learn de-escalation tactics including how to respond to victims/perpetrators of hate online, ensuring users have a healthy relationship with social media, and highlighting the importance of prioritizing personal safety.

DECEMBER 14 | Trauma-Informed Approaches to Community Work: Healing-centred approach to peer-to-peer work for young people.

JANUARY 11 | Healthy Social Media Use and Dealing w/ Hate Online: Young adults are reaching milestones where their online presence could heavily impact their future endeavours.
